Get set up before term begins
Before you can register for courses, you need access to UNB's core platforms. Get these four things done first.

D2L Brightspace All MBA-Online courses are delivered through Brightspace. You will see your courses appear during the first week of term: instructors sometimes post course outlines early, so check from the Monday before term starts. Log in with your UNB student credentials at lms.unb.ca.

MyUNB Portal The MyUNB Intranet is where you register for courses using Student Planning and Registration (Colleague Self-Service). You can also view your unofficial transcript, check your student account balance, and manage personal information. Log in with your UNB credentials.

Microsoft Office As a UNB student you have access to a full suite of Microsoft Office products at no cost. Download Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and more through the UNB IT Services software page.

D2L Brightspace Pulse Mobile App Get push notifications on your phone when grades are posted or your instructor makes an announcement. Available on iOS and Android. Highly recommended for online students who are not always at a computer.

Course Registration
How to register for your courses
MBA registration is a two-step process. You must complete and submit your Confirmation of Regulations (CoR) form first: your MBA Program Advisor (Sunil Pathak) must process it before you can register in MyUNB. Refer to the course carousel in Section 3 for your full course sequence.
Step 1: Sign your Confirmation of Regulations (CoR) form
Before you can add or drop courses online, you must sign the CoR form confirming you have read and understood the MBA-O Academic Regulations. Once you submit it, your MBA Program Advisor will process it and notify you via email. Do not attempt to register in MyUNB until you receive confirmation: you will receive an error message.

Once your CoR form has been confirmed as processed, follow these steps to register for your courses. Your first-term courses are confirmed in the welcome email you received: refer to the course carousel in Section 3 for your full sequence.

Log in to MyUNB
Go to unbcloud.sharepoint.com/sites/MyUNB and click Student Planning & Registration. You may also click Register Now on the main page.

Search the Course Catalogue
Under the graduation cap icon, select Course Catalogue and search for the course using its course code (from your welcome email).

View Available Sections
Click View Available Sections. Confirm the location is Web Instruction, the instructor and term are correct before proceeding.

Add the Section
Click Add Section. Your planned course will appear in beige. Repeat steps 2–4 for any additional courses.

Click Register Now
Once your schedule looks right, click Register Now. Confirmed courses turn green. If a registration block appears, email your MBA Program Advisor at sunil.pathak@unb.ca.
ECON 1013 prerequisite: Check your acceptance email. The ECON requirement will be listed separately within the same email. If you have an ECON prerequisite, you must take ECON 1013 during your first term. Email your MBA Program Advisor at sunil.pathak@unb.ca to enrol: the Faculty will process it for you.
Taking 3 courses: Taking 3 courses at a time (3 MBA courses or 2 MBA + ECON) moves you from part-time to full-time status. Being considered a full-time student also has implications for tuition, financial aid, and insurance enrolment. Connect with the Program Manager before deciding to take 3 courses.

As a returning student, your course selection depends on your degree progress and prerequisites. Confirm the right courses for this term before registering. Refer to the course carousel in Section 3 for your full sequence.

Log in to MyUNB
Go to unbcloud.sharepoint.com/sites/MyUNB and click Student Planning & Registration.

Search the Course Catalogue
Under the graduation cap icon, select Course Catalogue and search for each confirmed course code.

Check Prerequisites
Before adding courses, confirm you have completed the prerequisites. The course map in Section 3 shows what you have completed and what comes next.

Add Each Section
Click View Available Sections then Add Section. Confirm the location is Web Instruction and the term is correct.

Click Register Now
Confirmed courses turn green. If a registration block appears, email your MBA Program Advisor at sunil.pathak@unb.ca.

Your MBA program at a glance
The UNB MBA-Online is an 8-term program. Students typically take 2 courses per term and complete the degree in approximately 3 years. The program consists of 16 mandatory core courses plus 4 electives (60 credit hours total). You can remain in the general MBA or specialize in one of two tracks.

Minimum GPA for graduation A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) is required to graduate. After 15 credit hours, your GPA is reviewed each term. If it falls below 3.0, you are placed on conditional status and have two terms to bring it back up. Contact the Program Manager at sunil.pathak@unb.ca if you have questions about your academic standing.

Minimum grade per mandatory course You must achieve a minimum grade of 2.7 (B−) in every mandatory course. If you receive below B−, you must repeat the course. A course may only be repeated once. Receiving below B− twice in the same mandatory course results in withdrawal from the program. Speak with the Program Manager at sunil.pathak@unb.ca before repeating a course.

Maximum credits below B− You may have a maximum of 6 credit hours across your entire program with grades below B−. Exceeding this limit: including repeated courses: results in required withdrawal. If you are concerned about approaching this limit, contact the Program Manager immediately at sunil.pathak@unb.ca.

D or F grades A candidate who receives a D or F will normally be required to withdraw from the program. Exceptions are only made in truly extraordinary circumstances. Contact the Program Manager as soon as possible at sunil.pathak@unb.ca if you are at risk.

CoR form: first term only The Confirmation of Regulations form is signed once, during your first term, before you can register. Until it is processed, a registration block will prevent you from adding or dropping courses online. Email the MBA Program Advisor at sunil.pathak@unb.ca with any CoR questions.

Frequently asked questions
When will I see my courses in Brightspace?
Your courses will appear in D2L Brightspace during the first week of term. Instructors sometimes post course outlines early, so it is worth checking from the Monday before term starts.
Do I need to take ECON 1013?
Check your acceptance letter. If it lists an ECON prerequisite, you must take ECON 1013 during your first term. You have 6 months to complete it. Email your MBA Program Advisor at sunil.pathak@unb.ca to enrol: the Faculty will process it for you. Note that taking ECON 1013 alongside your two MBA courses moves you from part-time to full-time student status, which may affect your financial aid and health/dental insurance enrolment.
Can I take more than 2 courses per term?
If you would like to register for more than 2 courses in a term, connect with the Program Manager at sunil.pathak@unb.ca before registering. Taking 3 courses changes your status from part-time to full-time, which has implications for tuition, financial aid, and insurance enrolment.
What happens if I want to drop a course?
You may add or drop courses until the Add/Drop date (check the MBA Graduate Calendar for exact dates). Courses dropped after this date will appear as "W" (Withdrawn) on your academic record and you will be charged a prorated fee. It is worth reaching out to the Student Success team before dropping: reply to the welcome email you received.
What is the minimum GPA I need to maintain?
A cumulative GPA of 3.0 (B) is required for graduation. After you have accumulated 15 credit hours, your GPA is reviewed at the end of each term. If it falls below 3.0, you will be placed on conditional status and have two terms to bring it back up. You must also achieve a minimum of 2.7 (B−) in every mandatory course: see the Academic Regulations section for full details.
